ACTAE project: National multi-stakeholder workshops as part of the project’s inception phase

The 1st national multi-stakeholder workshops addressing Agroecological Transition in the Mekong Region, and especially in the ACTAE project’s countries, were held in March-June 2016 in Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. In each country, the workshop gathered about 40 specialists and practitioners from national and international NGOs, research institutes, universities, farmers organizations, government agencies and private sector working on sustainable agriculture sector, and aimed at sharing knowledge, information and experiences towards agroecology in each country and in the region as a whole.

The workshop program included:

– Introduction to ACTAE program with its 2 components: (i) Conservation Agriculture Network in South East Asia (CANSEA), and (ii) Agroecology Learning Alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA)

– Presentations and discussions of some case studies

– Demonstration of the online ALiSEA knowledge management and experience sharing platform on Agroecology

– Working groups building upon lessons learnt from the case studies and ACTAE presentations
