Two delegates of CANSEA attended the implementation workshop of Humidtropics for Mekong Region which was held from 13-14 May in Hanoi. Mekong Humidtropics is a CGIAR program aiming to build sustainable agricultural and agro-forestry systems for and with smallholders. The workshop involved over 40 delegates from ICRAF, CIAT, IITA, CIRAD, IWMI, ILRI, CIP, IFAD, FAO, IFAD, AVRDC, WUR, SLU, RECOFTC, Bioversity, KIB, NOMAFSI and other national research institutes.
At the workshop existing projects and potential partners in the region were reviewed, and formation of Research for Development platforms at various scale was discussed.
Following the workshop, on the 16 May, the delegates visited a conservation agriculture (CA) research site under the CANSEA located at NOMAFSI’s research station in Mai Son district (Son La Province) and some other sites in the Northeast Region of Vietnam.
